ME & TAE KWON-DO

Name: Chloe Woodward

Age: 11

Why I started Tae Kwon-Do: I started Tae Kwon-Do because I wanted to learn some self defence. I also wanted to get lots of belts to show people what I have achieved.

What I enjoy about Tae Kwon-Do: In Tae Kwon-Do I enjoy using the pads. I like to learn new things and I also enjoy the sequences/patterns.

My future with Tae Kwon-Do: I would like to get plenty of belts and feel confident about being able to defend myself. I would like to know lots of patterns and to be able to do them well.

Anything else: I really enjoy Tae Kwon-Do and I think it is a good idea to have the Saturdays classes.

Senior Club Member

Why I started Tae Kwon-Do: I started Tae Kwon-Do because I wanted to improve my fitness levels, confidence and prove to myself that I could achieve a long time ambition. I decided I had nothing to lose by trying out my local club and have now been practicing Tae Kwon-Do for almost a year now. I have always been interested in Martial Arts and have tried several different types of classes including kickboxing and Aikido However none have retained my interest in the way Tae Kwon-Do has. Since joining the club I have progressed to an 7th Kup have been named Senior Student of Year 2006 for my club.

What I enjoy about Tae Kwon-Do: I enjoy Tae Kwon-Do for many reasons, including the fact that my fitness has improved. In respect of Martial Arts skills I have learnt new techniques, patterns, and I have made new friends and have recently began entering competitions.

My future with Tae Kwon-Do: It has now become my ambition to become a black belt. I also really enjoy helping the juniors at Saturday classes so who knows, maybe I could become an instructor one day!

Anything else to say: Since starting Tae Kwon-Do my confidence has been boosted, it has also allowed me to feel safer when I’m out in crowded places and on the streets after dark.

Name: John Law

Age: 37

Why I started Tae Kwon-Do: My three daughters have been attending Tae Kwon-Do now for the last year. In 2006 my family and I attended Summer Camp in Haven resorts, Pwllheli, that was when I started thinking about joining Tae Kwon-Do. Then after talking to Mr Morton on different occasions about the benefits of Tae Kwon-Do (fitness, discipline etc), I decided to give it a go, it is also great to do something the whole family can enjoy.

What I enjoy about Tae Kwon-Do:It is a fun way to keep fit, also by learning the defensive and attacking techniques and learning the Korean terminology, it keeps your brain active as well.

My future with Tae Kwon-Do:It would be nice to one day be able to achieve black belt grading, but for now I will just concentrate on working up to black belt, because their will be a lot of hard work ahead, but I am looking forward to it.

Any thing else to say:If anybody out there is thinking about trying a martial arts system, come and try Tae Kwon-Do. Having spoken to different people in the T.A.G.B who have also tried different martial art systems they have found Tae Kwon-Do the most enjoyable and rewarding.
